the introduction of a Vande Bharat sleeper train service on this popular route. While the precise schedule, the exact list of stations where the train will halt, and the official launch date are still under wraps, the approval itself has generated considerable excitement among commuters. Route and Travel Time
Initial insights suggest the new Vande Bharat sleeper train will largely follow the established path of the Udyan Express, a long-standing link between Bengaluru and Mumbai. This route is anticipated to include key stops such as Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Guntakal. Notably, a Vande Bharat express service is already operational between Mumbai and Solapur, indicating no foreseen technical challenges in adapting it for a sleeper configuration. Commuter advocacy groups have expressed optimism, emphasizing the need for a travel time of approximately 16 to 17 hours. This timeframe is considered crucial for the train to offer a substantial advantage over current options, including bus services that typically take around 14-15 hours and the current Udyan Express, which spans over 22 hours for its 1,139-km journey, making the new service a highly anticipated improvement.
