Starlink Satellite Communications Pvt. Ltd. has rented 1,294 sq feet of space on the ground floor of the Boomerang commercial building in Chandivali, as per property documents accessed via Propstack.
The five-year lease, effective from October 14, 2025, comes with a monthly rent of ₹ 3.52 lakh and an annual escalation clause of 5%. The company has also deposited ₹ 31.7 lakh as a security deposit, the report said.
This is Starlink’ s first reported office in India, a part of its plan to launch commercial satellite broadband services in the country.
Starlink, a part of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, aims to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband globally using a constellation of low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellites. In India, the company’s focus will be on reaching underserved and remote regions where traditional internet infrastructure remains limited.
Starlink is reportedly setting up nine gateway earth stations across India, including one in Mumbai. These facilities will be part of the network backbone, enabling nationwide satellite-based internet delivery.
India is one of the world’s fastest-growing internet markets with over 850 million users. It is backed by government initiatives like Digital India and expanding 4G and 5G networks.
Starlink received a Unified License to launch satellite internet services in India in July. Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said frameworks for spectrum allocation and gateway setup are ready to ensure a smooth launch.
Scindia said that since 2014, India’s internet subscriptions have surged by 286% to 970 million, while broadband usage has grown 1,450% since 2014.
He added that mobile data costs have dropped 96.6% to ₹ 8.9 per GB, making India the world’s most affordable data market, as per PTI.
