Netflix has announced the launch of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad, expanding its presence in India and marking a long-term capability investment in the country’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector.
Eyeline Studios is Netflix’s global production and innovation studio. The launch is part of the company’s global strategy to expand its production innovation infrastructure. Founded in 2019 as Netflix’s innovation hub, it brings together practical filmmaking and next-generation production technologies. The studio focuses on areas such as live-action capture and generative techniques used in visual production.
In 2025, Eyeline Studios and visual effects company Scanline VFX — founded in 1989 — were brought together under the Eyeline brand, combining visual effects expertise, advanced production technology and research to support visual storytelling.

According to the company, the launch is intended as a long-term investment in India’s AVGC ecosystem, including infrastructure development and talent expansion. Eyeline Studios said it intends to hire specialised visual effects professionals in India as part of its operations.
The Hyderabad office spans 32,000 square feet and features technology for advanced visual effects and generative virtual effects supported by a hybrid cloud infrastructure. The facility is designed as part of Eyeline’s global network and will contribute to visual storytelling worldwide.
The Hyderabad studio becomes Eyeline’s fifth global location, joining its existing network in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul, and London. The facility will operate as part of the company’s global production pipeline and contribute to visual effects and production work for projects worldwide.
The launch event was led by Jeff Shapiro, CEO of Eyeline Studios, and attended by Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju, and actor-producer Rana Daggubati.
