The tool
Initially, translations will be available between English and Spanish, with more languages planned. The feature is open to Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers and all public Instagram accounts.
How
Before publishing a Reel, creators can toggle the option “Translate your voice with Meta AI” and choose whether to enable lip syncing. Translations can be reviewed and approved before going live, and viewers will see the reel in their preferred language by default. A new analytics breakdown also shows creators how many views their content received by language.
Meta recommends face-to-camera videos, clear speech, and minimal background noise for the best results. On Facebook, the tool currently supports
Custom translations for Facebook Pages
In addition to automated translations, Meta now lets Facebook Page owners upload their own dubbed audio tracks, up to 20 per Reel. This gives creators the flexibility to provide professional translations or target multiple audiences directly.
Meta says the new features are designed to help creators grow global audiences by removing language barriers and making content accessible across regions.
