Now that LeBron James has announced stunned the NBA with his decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers and close his eight-year chapter with the Los Angeles Lakers, a new wave of speculation has erupted: Will Bronny James join his father in Philadelphia?
The Lakers have made it clear that they have no intention of trading Bronny James. Meanwhile, the 76ers’ roster features a deep backcourt, leaving little immediate need or space to acquire another guard.
Also, Rich Paul, the agent for both players, told ESPN that "they are not a package deal" and there's no plan to request that Bronny join LeBron in Philadelphia.
The network also said Bronny recently picked up
his player option with the Lakers.
Bronny appeared in 27 regular-season games for the Lakers during the 2024-25 season and 42 regular-season games and eight playoff games last year, often splitting his time with the South Bay Lakers, the franchise’s G League affiliate.
Bronny averaged 2.9 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game last season with the Lakers.
