Will Friedle is sharing more than sitcom memories on the latest episode of "Pod Meets World."
The "Boy Meets World" actor, 50, shared a harrowing medical emergency on the Oct. 8 episode of "Pod Meets World", which he cohosts with Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong.
Friedle said blood in his urine sent him to the hospital, where he learned a surprising diagnosis.
"I woke up badly peeing blood," Friedle said during the episode.
Friedle said his wife noticed he looked pale after he left the bathroom. He spent about six hours at the hospital, undergoing tests that included a CT scan.

The tests revealed he had a kidney stone, and he said this was his first one. At the time of recording, he was still waiting to pass it and cautioned that he might need to leave
during the podcast.
What are kidney stones?
Kidney stones are solid deposits that can form when urine contains high concentrations of certain minerals, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Some small stones pass through the urinary tract on their own with little or no pain. A stone that gets stuck can obstruct urine flow and cause severe pain or bleeding. Treatment depends on the stone's size, location and composition, the institute says.
Will Friedle recalls 'Boy Meets World' moment at hospital
Even while seeking care, Friedle found himself being recognized.
"For some reason on this day in that hospital, I was more famous than I've ever been in my life," Friedle said.
With rooms full, he said, he was lying on a gurney in a hallway when a nurse performed the "Feeny call" during a conversation about his copay.
The "Feeny call" was a recurring joke on the sitcom, with Eric shouting to get teacher Mr. Feeny's attention. Friedle recalled joking that he had just filled a cup with blood, when the nurse tending to him made a joke about his sitcom bit.

"They couldn't have been sweeter there," he said of the staff before sharing that we was prescribed heavy drugs like Oxycontin.
"I'm going to do my best to not go anywhere near that stuff," Friedle said of the drugs. "Too many horrors."
Friedle played older brother Eric Matthews on "Boy Meets World," which aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000. The sitcom followed Ben Savage's Cory Matthews as he navigated growing up. Fishel played Cory's love interest Topanga Lawrence, Strong played Cory's best friend Shawn Hunter and William Daniels portrayed beloved instructor Mr. Feeny.
