Cowboys vs Buccaneers expert picks
Adam Kaufman: Cowboys 27, Buccaneers 17
Tampa Bay's winless, but it hasn't been getting embarrassed. All four losses have come by seven points or fewer. Unfortunately, competitive only gets you so far when your starting quarterback's sidelined and you're asking an undrafted rookie to win on the road on a short week. Jalon Daniels' mobility gives the Buccaneers something to work with, but losing Antoine Winfield Jr. makes slowing Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb that much tougher. Dallas just scored 34 in Houston, with Javonte Williams finding the end zone three times. I expect the Bucs to hang around before the Cowboys' offensive advantage creates some separation.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Cowboys 34, Buccaneers 19
Might it be time to fire up the first hot-seat watch of 2026?
The Buccaneers typically don't act hastily, but it might be difficult for Todd Bowles to hang on much longer if a primetime embarrassment sends Tampa Bay to its first 0-5 start since 2013. Maybe the offense can find its spark against a Dallas defense that still has several vulnerabilities, but Zac Robinson's attack hasn't looked capable of stressing opponents thus far. And Tampa Bay's inability to cobble together a pass rush could prove lethal against Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Blake Schuster: Cowboys 28, Buccaneers 24
This feels like a potential letdown spot for Dallas after stealing one in Houston last week. And why shouldn't the Cowboys be overlooking the winless Bucs when a Sunday Night Football clash against the Packers awaits them in Week 6? I don't think Tampa Bay has enough weapons to win this one outright, but they'll hang around much longer than anyone in Jerry Jones' suite will like.
