Sean "Diddy" Combs' representative has responded to reporting that alleges the rapper uses contraband electronics and alcohol in prison and also pays fellow inmates to perform duties for him.
NBC News on Sept. 29 published a report – citing photos and videos of the music producer inside the prison as well as interviews with four anonymous inmates – alleging he uses a cellphone and tablet that were procured for him. The outlet also reported that Combs pays fellow inmates to cook, clean and do his laundry.
Combs' representative shared with USA TODAY the same statement provided to NBC News.
"The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs's life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,"
said Juda Engelmayer. "The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal."
The federal Bureau of Prisons has previously said it does not issue comments "pertaining to internal inmate matters."
While he is behind bars at the low-security correctional facility, Combs, 56, has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement following a fight with a fellow inmate and saw his release date pushed back after allegedly creating and consuming alcohol in prison, a report which Engelmayer denied in a November 2025 statement.
Diddy's release date has fluctuated
Combs has been incarcerated since his September 2024 arrest and is serving a 50-month prison sentence in New Jersey's FCI Fort Dix for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Upon his sentencing in October 2025, Combs was scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028.
However, a change to Combs' release date in November saw the date pushed back by several months, to June 2028. Days prior, Combs' representative denied a report that claimed the Bad Boy Records founder had created and consumed alcohol in prison.
His release date has fluctuated throughout his incarceration; inmate records reviewed Sept. 29 showed he is due to leave prison Jan. 21, 2028.
The rapper's lawyers are seeking to overturn his conviction.
Combs, who has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, is still facing upwards of 70 civil lawsuits across the country.
