Cards Against Humanity is building a monument for Elon Musk in a newly incorporated city built around SpaceX's launch complex to annoy him, and it's asking the public for input.
The Chicago-based company behind the satirical adult party card game is inviting the public to join its design committee and help build the monument on a stretch of land it owns in South Texas.
In an Aug. 14 social media post, the card game maker announced plans to form the committee to build the monument after 150,000 people each paid the company $15 in 2017 to buy a piece of land on the U.S.-Mexico border to obstruct the construction of President Donald Trump's border wall.
However, in 2024, the company sued Musk's SpaceX for $15 million, alleging it trespassed on the land
— located in Cameron County, near Brownsville — and housed construction equipment there for at least six months. The two companies settled the lawsuit in 2025, according toprevious USA TODAY reporting.
The land, according to the card game maker, now sits inside the boundaries of the newly incorporated city of Starbase.
"But hope is not lost! We still have our rights as proud Texas landowners: We can build something on our land," the company said in the post. "Something that will annoy Elon Musk."
For $10, people can join the monument planning committee and work with others to build the "perfect monument to force a moment of introspection" on Musk.
Fans of the game can also buy one of the company's new expansion packs — Bad Billionaires Pack, Big Balls Pack, Super Box or the Big Bad Bundle — with 10% of all profits going toward building the monument.
