The past two Premier League champions face off on Sunday, Nov. 1 when Liverpool hosts Arsenal. However, fans watching in the U.S. will want to pay close attention to the kickoff time.
With daylight saving time ending in the early hours of Sunday, clocks in the United States will need to be set back by an hour. The kickoff time will therefore be at 11:30 a.m. ET, which is 4:30 p.m. local time.
Here is all the information regarding the heavyweight battle:
What time is Liverpool vs. Arsenal?
The match kicks off at 4:30 p.m. UK time.
In the U.S., the match commences at the following times: 11:30 a.m. (ET), 10:30 a.m. (CT), 9:30 a.m. (MT) and 8:30 a.m. (PT).
Why did Premier League kickoff times change?
As people in the U.S. gain one more hour of sleep due to daylight saving, this affects the kickoff time of Premier League matches
for fans watching in the States.
Daylight saving time ended in the UK on Sunday, Oct. 25, which meant the UK has been four hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone in the U.S. for the past week. But starting on Sunday, Nov. 1, the difference will again be five hours.
When does daylight saving time end in the U.S.?
On Sunday, Nov. 1, daylight saving time in the U.S. ends at 2 a.m. local time as the clock "falls back" one hour.
With this effect, people in the U.S. are able to gain an hour of sleep while sunsets and sunrises occur an hour earlier in the day.
Most of Arizona and all of Hawaii, along with Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands, do not observe daylight saving time and will not change their clocks.
