The Coventry City match got off to a chaotic start, with new signing Enzo Fernandez set to start the game on the bench but then pressed into starting duty after Nico O'Reilly was injured during warm-ups.

The strange start to the day only continued, as Man City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma nearly mishandled a back pass from defender Abdukodir Khusanov, putting a foot on it when it was inches from being entirely across the line for what would've been a calamitous own goal.
Shortly after, another giveaway at the back allowed Coventry City forward Taiwo Awoniyi to get one-on-one with Donnarumma, but the Nigeria international couldn't put his shot on target.
That seemed to be the wake-up call City needed, with the home side settling into the game, and Haaland arriving as he so often does.
