You already know how brutal last week was for starting quarterbacks Jayden Daniels, Jaxson Dart and Caleb Williams.
Williams and Dart are likely out for an extended period of time, while Williams is unlikely to practice this week (though coach Ben Johnson hasn't yet ruled him out for Monday night). But there are several other injury concerns elsewhere that will make fantasy lineup decisions a bit trickier.
Here are some of the most prominent players dealing with nagging ailments or coming back from major issues that will impact fantasy managers most in Week 3. As always, keep an eye on the latest developments leading up to kickoff with our player notes page.
WEEK 3 FANTASY RANKINGS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | D/ST
QB Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Darnold lasted five snaps in the season
opener before exiting with a hip/glute injury. But he's expected back at practice on Wednesday, which is good news for his potential return this week against Washington. Drew Lock has been solid in his place, but Darnold should get the nod if he's close to 100% by Sunday.
QB Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears
Here's an unexpected development. The Bears backup, who completed 5-of-9 passes for 54 yards after Williams exited with a hamstring injury, was diagnosed with a concussion after the game. That has created an interesting situation where Williams might be more likely than Bagent to suit up on Monday night. Third-stringer Case Keenum is the odds-on favorite to start at this point.
RB Rico Dowdle, Pittsburgh Steelers
Dowdle was carted to the locker room on Sunday after suffering a toe injury. Tests on Tuesday showed no significant damage so he may have dodged a bullet there. Jaylen Warren is still likely to get a significant majority of the backfield snaps against the Bengals on Sunday, however.
RB Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
Barkley missed the first half of Sunday's game after suffering a neck stinger. He did return to action with a neck roll and finished the game. That bodes well for his availability in Week 3, but his snap total could be reduced in favor of Tank Bigsby and Jordan Shipley.
WR Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
Inactive in Week 2 due to a hamstring injury, Flowers seems to have made good progress over the past week. A full practice on Wednesday would indicate he's on track to play at Dallas on Sunday.
WR Nico Collins, Houston Texans
Expected to miss two weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered in practice last week, Collins was inactive on Sunday. The original timetable still seems to be in effect, but the overall prognosis looks good. Look for TE Dalton Schultz and WRs Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte to fuel the passing game another week.
WR DJ Moore, Buffalo Bills
Moore left last Thursday's game against the Lions with a shoulder injury and was diagnosed with a sprained AC joint. He's being considered day-to-day as he recovers. Getting back on the practice field is essential if he's going to play this week.
TE Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
After sitting out the first two games of the season following a cleanup procedure on his knee, Bowers returned to practice last week and should be ready to make his season debut against the Saints.
