"Pretty Little Liars" star Keegan Allen is revealing he was the victim of an armed robbery.
The actor, 37, explained the situation in a video shared to Instagram the night of Thursday, Oct. 8, documenting his bloodied face just moments after he says two masked men held him at gunpoint and stole his watch in West Hollywood, California.
"I was just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel Supply," he said, referencing the upscale Los Angeles grocery store. "These two dudes hit me in the head and pointed a gun at me with a knife and then took off. They had masks on."
Allen, out of breath and visibly shaken, then asked someone off-camera to call the police. He also included surveillance footage of the incident in the post,
which showed the suspects in black hoodies cornering Allen against his car before physically attacking him and running in the opposite direction.
In the caption of his post, Allen wrote, "West Hollywood is not safe anymore. Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch.
"Will update more soon. Let's hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla@gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals. God bless," he concluded.
In a statement to USA TODAY, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed they responded to the scene around 9:05 p.m. local time "regarding robbery call for service."
Deputies spoke to Allen, "who stated he was approached by two male adults dressed in black clothing," per the sheriff's department. "One suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim while the other pointed a knife and demanded the victim’s watch and bracelet. Shortly after, the victim was struck in the face with the handgun. The suspects obtained the victim's watch and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle."
Allen was "medically evaluated" by paramedics for the laceration on his forehead but was not transported to the hospital, the LASD spokesperson said.
USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Allen for comment.
