An Ohio high school football team is preparing to take on double duty.
Dunbar (Dayton, Ohio) will play varsity games on back-to-back days to make up a previously canceled game. The Wolverines will take on Cincinnati Northwest on Thursday, Oct. 8, and then face off against Stivers School for Arts (Dayton) on Friday, Oct. 9.

.USA TODAY Sports has reached out to Ohio High School Athletic Association officials for comment on the situation, though there is no rule regarding football teams playing on consecutive days or a required designated rest period in between games.
OHSAA regulation 1.31 allows players to play a maximum of four quarters in one day. However,
an in-season practice regulation (1.18.1) reads: "Consider limiting full contact on consecutive days."

Due to the double duty this week, the Wolverines will end up playing three games in a span of seven days. Dunbar lost 52-6 to Trotwood-Madison on Friday, Oct. 2.
The Wolverines are 3-3 on the season, but have a 2-0 record in Dayton City League play to lead the league standings. Following Friday's game, Dunbar would have eight days off until its next game on Saturday, Oct. 17, vs. Thurgood Marshall (Dayton).
