In the West’s biggest game of the week, De La Salle (Concord, CA) overcame its demons against Southern California powers, taking down Centennial (Corona, CA) behind a stellar game from RB Duece Jones-Drew. With the win, De La Salle proves it belongs with the top teams in the state.
Many of the other top teams did not play, as the Trinity League had off weeks prior to the start of division play. Because of that, the Super 15 West Region remained rather stagnant week-over-week.
That doesn't mean there aren't fresh faces. Utah and Washington both have new representatives in the regional list.

1. Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. Mater
Dei (CA), 7 p.m. PT
The Eagles’ week off gave them time to prepare for a matchup against perennial powerhouse Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA). Defensive coordinator Steve Fifita will have planned for ways to minimize Mater Dei’s offense that struggled two weekends ago against Bishop Gorman.
2. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV)
Record: 5-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9 vs. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon (NV), 7 p.m. PT
With a 45-3 win over Faith Lutheran (NV), Bishop Gorman got its in-state schedule started with a bang. QB Ace Amina completed 12 of 13 passes, and there's no reason to think the Gaels will slow down moving forward.
3. St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA)
Record: 4-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. JSerra Catholic (CA), 7 p.m. PT
St. John Bosco will start Trinity League play against JSerra, which boasts a 4-1 record. QB Koa Malau'ulu, who was on the preseason ALL-USA Watch List, has completed 60.7% of his passes for 1,091 yards, 15 touchdowns and three interceptions through five games.
4. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. Loyola (CA), 7 p.m. PT
Sierra Canyon has not allowed more than 10 points in a game since Aug. 21, and the offense continues to shine. Against Pacifica, senior QB Demarco Hernandez went 22-for-23 with 272 yards and three touchdowns, and backup sophomore QB Ian Patterson completed all six of his passes.
5. Hamilton (Chandler, AZ)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9 at Valley Vista (AZ), 7 p.m. MST
Hamilton pulled away from Williams Field in the third quarter to get its fifth win of the year, and it's time to zoom in on Roman Oliver: In the last three games, the sophomore WR has 29 receptions, 479 yards and six touchdowns.
6. Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA)
Record: 4-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 at Santa Margarita, 7 p.m. PT
Mater Dei had a much-needed week off ahead of its bout with Santa Margarita. The offense has just 18 points over the last two weeks. The caveat: Those two games were against Centennial and Bishop Gorman, two of the toughest teams in the country. The bad news for the Monarchs: Santa Margarita is just as good.
7. De La Salle (Concord, CA)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 at Cathedral Catholic, 7 p.m. PT
De La Salle picks up its biggest win of the year, with Duece Jones-Drew rushing for 211 yards and three touchdowns and Zion Cadet making a massive tackle for loss to ice the game and withstand a big performance by Centennial QB Jaden Jefferson. The Spartans made a statement: They can match up with any team in California.
8. Mililani (HI)
Record: 7-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 at Kailua (HI), 7:30 p.m. HST
Mililani had its first scare of the season, outlasting Campbell (HI) 35-30. It was the first time all year that a Mililani game was decided by fewer than three touchdowns.
9. Folsom (CA)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 at Granite Bay (CA), 7 p.m. PT
Folsom pulled out a victory in double overtime to maintain its perfect record on the season, with QB Brody Rudnicki running in the game-winner from 17 yards out.
10. Orange Lutheran (CA)
Record: 3-2
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. Servite (CA), 7 p.m. PT
A quick look at Orange Lutheran leaders before the team enters the Trinity League gauntlet — younger players are tearing it up for the Lancers. Junior safety King Rich Johnson leads the team with three interceptions and 27 tackles, and sophomore RB Ryan Christianson has paced the offense with 560 rushing yards, 103 receiving yards, and six total TDs through five games.
11. Basha (Chandler, AZ)
Record: 3-2
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9 vs. Westwood (AZ), 7 p.m. MST
Basha started slow against Red Mountain, leading only 7-5 at the half, but junior quarterback Jadon Jenkins helped the Bears pick it up in the second half of his fist career start. The team continues to be hampered by injuries, but it got its second straight win this weekend and now gets a much-needed week off.
12. Chandler (AZ)
Record: 4-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 at Cactus Canyon (AZ), 7 p.m. MST
Chandler's defense put the pressure on Brophy College Prep, accumulating 13.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in the win. The Wolves continue to look good as the year progresses.
13. Mountain Ridge (Herriman, UT)
Record: 7-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. Herriman (UT), 7 p.m. MT
Welcome to the Super 15, Mountain Ridge! With a win over Skyridge early, and then a Skyridge victory over Corner Canyon, Mountain Ridge has established itself atop Utah. The Sentinels have scored more than 40 points in every game this season and have allowed seven points or fewer in five of their seven games.
14. Liberty (Peoria, AZ)
Record: 4-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2 vs. Mountain Ridge (AZ), 7 p.m. MST
Liberty bounced back from its first loss of the season by piling 43 points on American Leadership Academy - Queen Creek (AZ). Junior RB Chase Ochoa needed just nine carries to rack up 119 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win.
15. Puyallup (WA)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Thursday, Oct. 1 at Rogers (WA), 7 p.m.
Puyallup has looked its part as the best team in Washington this season, and with a 72-point outing last week, the Vikings have earned a spot in the Super 15. The team has scored just over 200 points across its four games this season.
