There's not much going right for Penn State at the moment, with the Nittany Lions
facing a possibility of a fifth straight loss on Saturday against Purdue. That frustration appears to be showing up in the stands, too, as Beaver Stadium was noticeably lacking in crowd support early against the Boilermakers. The stands at Beaver Stadium looked noticeably sparse ahead of Penn State's 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff against Purdue on Saturday, with large sections of the upper deck unfilled and visible pockets of empty seats scattered
throughout the lower bowl.

The Nittany Lions have had large crowds — including their annual "White Out" game, which had a stadium-record 114,419 announced fans in attendance — this season amid the stadium's continuous renovations as well.
Beaver Stadium typically stands as one of the most daunting venues in the Big Ten Conference, if not college football, due to its status as one of the largest stadiums in the sport. However, its size only further emphasized the emptiness of the stands on Oct. 31 — or illustrated fans' frustration with Year 1 of the Matt Campbell era.
In the midst of its four-game losing skid, Penn State saw itself drop out of the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 and take losses to unranked opponents Wisconsin, Northwestern and Michigan. The Nittany Lions have been outscored by its opponents, which also includes Southern California, 110-74, in that span.
A loss for Penn State would be rather detrimental, as the Nittany Lions have not lost to Purdue in the last 11 meetings between the two squads.
