Matti Schmid came up aces with one of the best shots during the first tournament of the FedExCup Playoffs.
Shooting at the par-3 fourth hole in the second round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Schmid nailed the 173-yard tee shot and hit the green a few feet from the cup before it bounced a few times to find its way into the hole.
It was the German native's first career hole-in-one.

Schmid entered the tournament ranked 69th out of 70 players for the FedExCup title
and can still finish to make a run this weekend after shooting a disappointing 73 in the first round. There is no cut line at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, so Schmid still has a chance to still make next week's field.
The top 50 players at the St. Jude will move on to the BMW Championship starting Aug. 20 at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.
