A California congressional district held a special election runoff on Tuesday, Aug. 18, to fill a vacant seat on Capitol Hill. The election in the state's 14th District was called following the April 2026 resignation of former U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, who left office following allegations of sexual misconduct.
Democrats Melissa Hernandez and Aisha Wahab advanced to the runoff following a June 16 primary, when neither crossed the 50% of votes threshold to win the seat.
Here are the results for California's special House election, according to the Associated Press and CNN.
