The stage is set for the National League Division Series, with the Atlanta Braves advancing to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in a best-of-five matchup beginning Saturday, Oct. 3.
The Braves secured their NLDS berth by rallying past the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1, thanks to a clutch three-run homer by Austin Riley
off closer Jhoan Duran in the eighth inning. The blast propelled Atlanta to a 5-3 victory. In Game 2, the Phillies staged an impressive comeback to keep their postseason hopes alive. Alec Bohm delivered a two-out home run in the 10th inning, lifting the Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Braves. With this win, Philadelphia forced a winner-take-all Game 3 in the NL Wild Card Series.
The Braves had lost six straight winner-take-all playoff
games. Michael Harris II helped end that in the first inning. His three-run homer off Aaron Nola put Atlanta ahead for good, and the Braves beat the Phillies 6-2 in Game 3 of their NL wild card series. Ozzie Albies added a 419-foot, two-run homer in the fourth off Zack Wheeler.
Now, the Braves turn their attention to the Dodgers with a trip to the NL Championship Series on the line.
