Russell Wilson let out a groan when asked about North Carolina State's loss to Vanderbilt.
The Wolfpack — Wilson's former school before he transferred to Wisconsin for his final season — lost to the Commodores
on the final play of the game following CJ Bailey's fumble in the end zone for a defensive touchdown. NC State was attempting to take a safety while up 33-30 with only a few seconds left in the game.Wilson, who led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl win in 2014, offered this on CBS Sports' "The NFL Today" show when asked what he would've done in the situation.
"Just chuck it," the CBS analyst said. "Have a guy run down the sidelines, just
chuck it out of bounds. That broke my heart, man."

Wilson passed for over 7,000 yards with 93 total touchdowns in three seasons as the Wolfpack starting quarterback from 2008-10. He transferred to Wisconsin for the 2011 season and passed for 3,175 yards with 33 touchdowns to four interceptions, leading the Badgers to a Rose Bowl win.
The third-round pick of the 2012 NFL Draft passed for 46,966 career yards with 353 passing touchdowns to 114 interceptions in his NFL career, winning the 2014 Super Bowl as a third-year starter. He also lost in the 2015 Super Bowl with the Seahawks.
NC State's loss to Vanderbilt marked a rough day for Wolfpack fans, which included Wilson.
