Nearly two months after Dolly Parton's death, fans continue finding new ways to celebrate the country music icon's extraordinary life and career.
While millions are expected to tune in tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. ET for the televised tribute "CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton,"
another of Parton's final passion projects is preparing to bring her story to audiences in a whole new way. Before her untimely passing earlier this year, Parton helped develop "DOLLY: A True Original Musical," a Broadway production inspired by her journey from a small-town Tennessee girl to one of the most successful and beloved entertainers in history.

will move forward as planned, with previews beginning in just more than six weeks on Dec. 7 at New York City's St. James Theatre and an official opening on Jan. 19, what would have been her 81st birthday. Featuring songs such as "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You," "Coat of Many Colors" and "9 to 5," along with new music written for the show, the musical is set to become one of the most meaningful tributes to her enduring legacy.

Who is playing Dolly Parton in the Broadway musical?
While official casting for the Broadway production has not yet been announced, Kerry Butler (from "Hairspray") played the "Here You Come Again" icon in an early workshop of the musical.
There was also a Nashville run of the show, where three actresses stepped into Parton's shoes at different points in her life: Quinn Titcomb played her as a little girl, Carrie St. Louis portrayed her as a young woman and Katie Rose Clarke (from "Merrily We Roll Along") portrayed her as the icon she was.
