The popular podcaster Alex Cooper and her husband, Matt Kaplan, are officially parents.
The couple welcomed a baby on Oct. 20 and shared the news of the birth in an Instagram post with a simple blue heart emoji caption and a photo of the baby wearing a matching fuzzy gray sweater-and-pants combo, though the baby's name has not been revealed just yet.
The "Call Her Daddy" podcast host first shared the news of her pregnancy in May with an announcement post featuring a photo of her holding her baby bump, captioned "Our Family."
In July, Cooper revealed to her fans, affectionately known as the Daddy Gang, that she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. "I’m not gonna cry on the internet because I’ve never cried on the internet, but when I tell you,
I almost did,” she said in the post. The 32-year-old went on to explain that this condition is caused when placental hormones cause insulin resistance.
"I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level — literally anyone is susceptible to getting it," Cooper went on to say. "When I got this diagnosis, the first couple days, I was really hard on myself and it felt very isolating. As much as my family and my husband and everyone was there for me, I just felt like it’s me on an island. This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy there’s already so much emotionally that you’re going through."
Kaplan and Cooper met back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic over a Zoom call, which led her to give him the nickname "Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” on her podcast. Four years later, in 2024, the couple got married in an intimate beachside wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The two had their nuptials covered by Vogue and in her interview with the publication, Cooper said, "I had always been a cynic when it came to marriage."

She continued, "[But,] from the beginning of our relationship, I was honest with Matt and told him I might be more interested in the whole ‘life partner’ route. Growing up, I witnessed my parents live the once-in-a-lifetime love — they are still together, 40 years this year. I was convinced I would never find what they had, and so I didn’t expect it and didn’t look for it. Little did I know, I just needed to find my Matt Kaplan.”
Kaplan is the CEO of Unwell (Alex's podcasting company) and ACE Entertainment, which merged in 2023.
