The defending Super Bowl champs are down their first-round pick for at least the next month.
The Seattle Seahawks will be without rookie running back Jadarian Price for at least the next four games after placing him on injured reserve with a chest injury. Price aggravated the injury in practice this week, just days after Seattle's surprisingWeek 3 loss to Washington.
Price, a first-round pick out of Notre Dame, has endured a difficult start to his NFL career. Through three games, he has rushed 28 times for 119 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry, while adding four receptions for 21 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown and has also fumbled twice, losing both, including a costly turnover in Week 3 that contributed to his limited workload.
Seahawks RB depth chart
- Emmanuel Wilson
- George Holani
- Zach Charbonnet (OUT)
- Jadarian Price (IR)
- Velus Jones Jr. (practice squad)
The
injury comes as Zach Charbonnet works his way back from an ACL tear. He opened the season on the physically unable to perform list and has been designated to return to practice, clearing the way for him to take part in football activities.
Charbonnet, who tore his ACL in Seattle's divisional-round win over the 49ers, still has to sit out one more game before he is eligible to return from the PUP list.
Emanuel Wilson and George Holani are expected to lead the Seahawks' backfield in the meantime. The team also signed Velus Jones Jr. off the practice squad ahead of their Week 4 game against the Chargers.
