New details emerged in the sudden death of Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac and Neville in WWE.
A partially redacted incident report from Des Plaines Police Department obtained by USA TODAY Sports details a person called authorities for someone "unconscious and unresponsive, slumped over, in a vehicle" in the parking lot of a Cava in the city of Des Plaines, Illinois, near O’Hare International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Fire department arrived on the scene and began life saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. local time.
Responding police noted it "did not find any injuries or suspicious markings on him besides what appeared to be saliva on the front of his shirt."
The car Pac was found in was a rental car and Google Maps was open
on his phone and routing him to O’Hare International Airport. The day prior to his death, Pac wrestled Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at All Out on Saturday, Sept. 26 at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, roughly 22 miles west from where he died.
The only possessions Pac had in the car were two suitcases and a backpack that were in the trunk of the car. Police found medication in the backpack.
Authorities were able to contact someone close to Pac, although the name and relationship of the person is redacted. The woman said she last spoke to Pac on the phone at 1:20 p.m. local time and said he was going to Cava for lunch, and his flight home to the United Kingdom was delayed.
What led to Pac's death remains under investigation. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office told USA TODAY Sports an autopsy was performed on Monday, Sept. 28, but the cause and manner of death are pending for additional testing, which take "several weeks." Photos were taken of the scene and collected by authorities.
Pac became a prominent star after joining WWE in 2012 as Neville, wrestling with the company until 2017 and joining upstart All Elite Wrestling in January 2019, where he worked for the remainder of his career.
AEW held a tribute show in honor of Pac on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Pac was 40 years old.
