Las Vegas Raiders QB Kirk Cousins was named the starting quarterback for Week 1 by head coach Klint Kubiak, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Why it Matters: No surprise here as No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza will start the year as the backup. He still retains plenty of dynasty value, but his single-year league value is very sketchy. You can stash him in two-QB leagues or superflex leagues. Looking at their schedule, the Raiders have two very winnable games in the first four weeks against the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints. They face the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills in Weeks 5 and 6. If they're 2-4, maybe you see a change there. They don't have a bye until Week 13. Cousins will be a matchup play, particularly against Miami and New Orleans for
the forseeable future.
