England forward Ivan Toney has formally pleaded not guilty during his first court appearance in connection with an incident in December 2025 at a central London nightclub.
Toney faces accusations stemming from an altercation on Dec. 6, 2025, at a Soho nightclub, where he allegedly headbutted and punched a man during a heated confrontation. The alleged victim, Saver Da Silva, claims the incident left him with injuries requiring medical attention.
During a brief 10-minute hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, Toney confirmed his identity before firmly pleading not guilty to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, as alleged by Saver Da Silva.
According to the Associated Press, a spokesperson for Toney stated
that he "acknowledges the charge and, although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court."
After the hearing, Toney was granted unconditional bail and will remain free pending his next court date at Southwark Crown Court on October 29.
Toney was a member of the England squad that secured third place at this summer's World Cup and currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.
