As the only Major League Baseball wild card series that didn't end in a sweep, the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies will play their winner-take-all Game 3 in primetime on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The NL East rivals had played the opening game (2 p.m. ET) of MLB's quadruple-header on Tuesday and Wednesday – and were penciled in for the same in Game 3 – but the other three series wrapping up in two pushed the lone game back to 8 p.m. ET.
Atlanta won the opener at Truist Park, rallying on Austin Riley's clutch three-run homer in the eighth inning, but Philadelphia survived Game 2 with its own late heroics, getting back-to-back home runs from Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper in the eighth inning to tie it up. Alec Bohm's solo home run in the top of
the 10th gave the Phillies the win, forcing the decider in Georgia.
The winner of the Braves-Phillies series will head to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers in the best-of-five NL Division Series, which begins on Saturday, Oct. 3.
