The show must go on, but even Katseye needs a break.
The Grammy-nominated girl group shocked fans after abruptly canceling their concert at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday, Nov. 3. In a statement shared on their Instagram stories, the group said the cancellation was due to member Megan Skiendiel falling ill.
"We're so sorry to share that tonight's show at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness," the statement read. "Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover."
Katseye, which was formed in 2023 on the reality competition series "Dream Academy," consists of six members: Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Yoonchae
Jeung and Manon Bannerman. Laforteza and Bannerman are both on hiatus as they focus on their health.

A rescheduled date for the concert has not yet been announced. But fans' original tickets will remain valid for the new show, Little Caesars Arena announced on social media.
"We know so many of you have traveled, made plans and been looking forward to tonight," Katseye's statement concluded. "We are incredibly disappointed that we won't get to see you, and we're truly sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience, understanding and for always showing us so much love. We love you and can't wait to see you soon."
USA TODAY has reached out to Katseye's representatives for additional comment.
The Wildworld Tour, launched in support of Katseye's latest EP "Wild," kicked off on Sept. 1. The global trek has taken the girl group to several major cities across Europe and the United States.
Tuesday's scrapped concert marks the first cancellation of the tour. It also comes one week after Skiendiel and Avanzini missed a VIP fan event in Boston due to illness.
Katseye's next show is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, at the United Center in Chicago, according to the group's official website.
Katseye concert cancellation divides fans: 'Really disappointing'
Katseye's cancellation has generated controversy among fans online for the last-minute notice to concertgoers.
"So, we're in an arena full of crying little girls because Katseye canceled on us last minute," TikTok user @jessicaxxguerrero said in a video filmed at the show. Guerrero's young daughter could be seen crying in the clip.
"They got our hopes up. They were at the VIP. They were at the soundcheck," Guerrero continued. "And we don't even live in Detroit, so this is really disappointing. I found out through TikTok."
"Canceling 30 minutes before the show started is so unprofessional," @TheOGBlackMamba wrote on X. "Also, [consider] the amount of people who flew out for this. So, the whole 'it's being rescheduled' excuse is not good enough."
"Drove three hours to Detroit and spent the last of the money I had to travel here just so I could see Katseye on Lara's [birthday], and they cancel 30 minutes before, even though they were just out for VIP," @adelasmin wrote. "I genuinely can't believe this."
However, other fans took to the girl group's defense, blaming the cancellation on the band's demanding workload amid touring.
"It seems like almost every other day we are getting news of more things being added to the girls' schedules, as if they aren't getting injured or ill every other week due to the hard schedule they already have!" @NewsKatseye wrote on X. "Katseye needs a break both physically [and] mentally.
"They have undeservingly become the internet's punching bags, and [their record label] has done nothing since Katseye's debut to combat this or protect the girls in any way and instead have left the girls to defend themselves at the cost of their mental health."

"I'm sorry, but this Katseye stuff has gotten to a [really] concerning and unprofessional point," @kookendipity wrote. "Not the members' fault, obviously. I blame Hybe and Geffen [Records]. But it actually makes me so sad [because] it reflects [really] badly onto the members since no one in this world has a brain enough to focus on the root of the issue, and their company knows that."
"Cancel the whole tour and let them rest!" @danonsjimin wrote.
