Taylor Swift is extending the life of "The Life of a Showgirl."
The pop star has announced "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore," a follow-up to her 12th studio album "The Life of a Showgirl," featuring four brand new songs.
The encore album drops on Friday, Sept. 25.
In an Instagram post, Swift explained the new songs came together after she took a trip to Sweden to celebrate the success of the original album with her collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.
"Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs," she said. "I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance
for and celebration of the album we made."
The announcement comes a day after Swift revealed a new single, "Patient Zero," set to drop on Sept. 25. But fans were confused at the time about whether the track was the start of a new era for Swift or was connected to her "Life of a Showgirl" album, which originally debuted in October 2025.
"The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" will drop two days before the MTV Video Music Awards, where Swift will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors.
