Elliot Page has earned raves for his performance in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," but the actor says it hasn't led to the influx of job offers you might expect.
Sitting down with the "On Film… With Kevin McCarthy" podcast on Sept. 1, the "Juno" star, 39, discussed his acclaimed turn as Sinon in the Nolan blockbuster. Near the end of the interview, McCarthy asked Page what he's doing next, suggesting the star is surely "getting a zillion calls" after the film.
Page, though, revealed the disappointing reality.
"No, Kevin, I'm not. So if someone wants to call me…," Page said, joking, "I know I get some pushback for being … Canadian? I don't know what it's about."

In all seriousness, when the "Umbrella Academy" star was asked if he has a project
lined up to work on next, he said, "Not really." And that's not because he's intentionally taking a break.
"No, I really love to do ideally good work," Page said, adding that his future performances will benefit from the fact that he is more comfortable in his own skin since coming out as transgender in 2020.
"I had such a great time being in ['Inception']. I had such a great time working with [Nolan], but I was also, personally, really uncomfortable," Page said.
He added, "But I feel, now – because that's removed and I don't have to deal with that when I'm acting and my performances – I feel like I could do some of my best work now. I'm not having to literally work through a performance that I don't even quite know that I'm doing to get to a performance."

Page had a brief but crucial role in Nolan's "The Odyssey" as Sinon, the Greek soldier who, before dying, tells Trojan soldiers that a giant wooden horse on the beach is a gift for Athena, unaware that Odysseus and his men are hiding inside.
Sinon's ghost later returns in a scene set in the underworld, where he confronts Odysseus over his betrayal. Some critics have cited this underworld sequence centered on Page as one of the film's most powerful scenes; Empire's Ben Travis called Page the "unexpected, unforgettable soul of the movie."
"The Odyssey" marked Page's first major studio movie since "Flatliners" in 2017. In the years since, he has starred in four seasons of the Netflix series "The Umbrella Academy."

Page had his breakthrough role with the 2006 thriller "Hard Candy" before going on to play the title character of the 2007 comedy "Juno," earning an Oscar nomination for the role. Page has also starred in movies like "X-Men: The Last Stand," "Whip It" and "Super."
"The Odyssey" saw Page reunite with Nolan after the pair's work on "Inception," with Page playing Ariadne opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2010 film. Speaking with Josh Horowitz at New York Comic Con in 2025, Page said he was "so excited to be asked to come back" to work with Nolan again.
"It was such a joy to come back, and to come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sort of projects more enjoyable, just waking up every day and going to work," he said. "So to get to have a Chris Nolan experience again now, that actually really just meant so much to me."
