Real Madrid has called out La Liga president Javier Tebas, saying the leader is "obsessed" with Real Madrid and that he attacks the club at every opportunity.
The club fell 2-1 to Atlético Madrid in a derby match on Sunday, Sept. 20. Manager Jose Mourinho was fuming after the game about the decision to send Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen off, but not to red card Atlético Madrid's Cristian Romero or Kang-in Lee, in incidents that the manager had freeze-framed and printed to display in the post-match news conference.
The accusations, and press coverage from Real Madrid-friendly outlets, led Tebas to take to social media with a 234-word post insisting there was no corruption at hand.

and they're already saying the league has been corrupted. It's the same excuse as always, and nobody with common sense believes it any more."
The president also noted in his tweet that "Real Madrid is very important for La Liga" but said that alleging referees were working against Los Blancos is "living in another galaxy."

Tebas, who has been La Liga president since 2013, long has clashed with Real Madrid's high-profile president Florentino Pérez. The club's statement went on to say Tebas is not fit to continue leading the league.
"In accordance with this inappropriate behavior that has been carried out over time, we understand that the professional soccer competition in Spain urgently needs a director capable of administering and developing all its potential with the require level of neutrality," Madrid's statement closed. "It needs someone who understands the nature of its role because the president of La Liga isn't the owner of the competition but rather a manager who serves the clubs that make it up and that are confident in its direction.
"The clubs need someone who serves this mission with honesty."
Tebas fired back with another post shortly after, saying he'd read the statement and "agreed the president of La Liga isn't the owner of the competition. Neither is the president of Real Madrid."
With teams entering the extended international break, Real Madrid must stew in the derby defeat until an Oct. 10 contest with Valencia.
