The Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which brings together elite horses, jockeys, trainers, and owners from around the world, returns to the historic Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, for its annual two-day international series of Grade 1 Thoroughbred races.
The two-day Breeders’ Cup will feature 14 championship Grade 1 races, with $34 million in purses and awards up for grabs, attracting the top talent in the sport.
The competition for U.S. Horse of the Year honors is particularly fierce this season.
Forever Young, the Japanese sensation and reigning Breeders’ Cup Classic champion, seeks to defend his title. He will face stiff competition from last year’s Horse of the Year, Sovereignty, and from Golden Tempo, the winner of both the 2026
