Caitlin Clark is set to be perhaps the biggest headliner when Team USA returns to international competition this week.
Clark is expected to play for the United States when the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup in Berlin, Germany begins on Friday, Sept. 4
. The Indiana Fever star, in the midst of a resounding bounce-back WNBA season, was named to Team USA's final roster after helping the Americans qualify for the tournament earlier this year.Clark is averaging 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 8.4 assists in her third season with the Fever, and boasts a strong track record with Team USA over the years. She was named tournament MVP when the United States went 5-0 in March to qualify for the FIBA Women's World Cup, averaging 11.6 points and a team-best 6.1
assists. She finished with the best efficiency rating on the team.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a decorated career with USA Basketball before entering the WNBA.
Clark was previously named the MVP of FIBA's U19 World Cup tournament in 2021 when the United States won a gold medal. She also won gold medals as a member of USA Basketball's U19 FIBA World Cup team in 2019 and with the national program's U16 team in 2017.

When is the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup?
The FIBA women's World Cup begins on Friday, Sept. 4 and ends on Sunday, Sept. 13. The competition begins with a group stage featuring 16 teams separated into groups of four, followed by a knockout stage featuring a 12-team, elimination-style tournament.
The first-place team in each group moves directly into the quarterfinals, while the second- and third-place teams advance into a play-in round. Those win-or-go-home games begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Where is the 2026 FIBA World Cup being played?
The 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup will be played in Berlin, Germany, at two venues: Berlin Arena and Max-Schmeling-Halle.
Both arenas will host group-stage games, while Berlin Arena will be the home of all of the knockout rounds.
