We've reach the last full month of the college football regular season, and the College Football Playoff picture is no clearer. It's set up for a bumpy ride these next five weeks with the unavoidable guarantee that there will be major debate about which teams get selected and which teams get snubbed when the pairings come out.
There potentially will unimpressive two-loss teams from the ACC or Big 12 fighting it out with three-loss teams from the SEC and maybe the Big Ten. Both sides claiming the high ground in the debate. It will be unenviable task for the committee to sort out. But that's why the members got their jobs.
As for this week's bowl projections, it will be the last one completed before we see the CFP rankings Tuesday that lands four
days ahead of a loaded Week 10 schedule that will drastically alter the picture.
For now, there's no change in the composition of the field, but significant movement in where the teams are seeded, including a new No. 1 team.
