Texas football was unable to overcome a second-half collapse in the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma to win the Golden Hat trophy.
And with that, the Longhorns' four-week run as the top-ranked team in the country has come to an end.
Steve Sarkisian's squad fell 27-24 to the Sooners on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas after Tate Sandell drilled a game-winning 47-yard field goal as time expired. The victory marked Oklahoma's first win over Texas with the Longhorns ranked No. 1 in the country.
Arch Manning completed 19-of-31 passes for 260 yards with three touchdowns, but did finish with two interceptions. His first interception was returned
for a 42-yard touchdown by Peyton Bowen, the first interception returned of Manning's career with the Longhorns.
His second interception, which came with 19 seconds left in a tied game, was just as costly. It set up Oklahoma's eventual game-winning field goal from Sandell.
So, where will the Longhorns be ranked heading into their home matchup against No. 15 Florida? Here's what to know:
