Is cyclosporiasis in Philadelphia?
The city's Department of Public Health previously reported to USA TODAY that cases of cyclosporiasis had not exceeded Philadelphia's baseline.
In a July 24 update, there had been at least 13 cases of cyclosporiasis in the city this calendar year, and officials said at the time that cases were expected to track higher than years' previous.
As of Aug. 11, the health department told USA TODAY, the latest cyclosporiasis case count sat at 25, though about half of those cases had been confirmed in the months prior to the Taylor Farms
outbreak.
Is lettuce with cyclosporiasis still being sold?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best-by dates for products impacted by the Taylor Farms recall have passed and should no longer be available in restaurants or stores.
This specific outbreak was linked to 6,358 cases, 278 hospitalizations and two deaths, according to the CDC.
The CDC is also investigating other outbreaks and illnesses not linked to the Taylor Farms recall.
