Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax made an appearance at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The Dodgers were taking on the Atlanta Braves in the first game of the National League Division Series.
Koufax was among those in the crowd to watch the game up close with a seat in the second row despite the brutal heat in Los Angeles. The 90-year-old has frequently attended postseason games and the World Series in recent years. The Dodgers have an opportunity to complete a World Series three-peat this year.
It was 102 degrees, according to AccuWeather, during the bottom of the fifth inning in Los Angeles. There was a RealFeel of 106, with a wind gust of nine MPH.
The temperature was just under the record-high 108-degree day set in 1987. AccuWeather
notes that the "extreme heat can be dangerous for outdoor activities."
