Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans (Achilles) is dealing with the same Achilles' soreness that he dealt with all week leading up to the Week 6 game against the Washington Commanders on Monday, Oct. 19.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said in his post-game press conference that he did not think Evans will need further testing or imaging on the Achilles.
Evans finished with three receptions for a game-high 94 yards on five targets before checking out of the game.

Why it Matters: San Francisco will play in Atlanta in Week 7, and then it has a bye week. As such, it's reasonable to assume that Evans will not be pushed to play in Week 7, and fantasy managers should make plans to be without
him until at least Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, the first game back from a bye. Christian Kirk is nearing a return from a calf injury, and he would join Brandin Cooks, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing as the top four active wide receivers. For fantasy purposes, whenever he is 100 percent, Kirk would likely be the best bet.
