The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Tarik Skubal on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The Dodgers traded away outfielder Zyhir Hope and a pair of right-handed pitchers — River Ryan and Brady Smith — to bring Skubal to town.
Skubal will arrive in Los Angeles with some momentum after several productive outings for the Tigers.
The Hayward, California, native received a standing ovation after recording his 1,000th career strikeout on July 29. He allowed four hits and three earned runs in that game while striking out six and walking one batter in 6.2 innings pitched in what is now his final game with the Tigers.
When is Tarik Skubal expected to start for Dodgers?
Skubal was tentatively scheduled to take the mound for the Tigers on
Wednesday, Aug. 5, on a week of rest.
The Dodgers will be taking on the Cubs at Chicago's Wrigley Field in an afternoon game that day, though it's not inconceivable he could start the Aug. 4 game.
If Skubal starts Aug. 5 and were to remain on a schedule that includes a full week's rest between starts, he could pitch at Dodger Stadium against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Skubal has produced a 7-5 overall record in 16 starts this season. He has a 2.79 ERA and struck out 116 in 96.2 innings pitched. He's allowed 74 hits, 33 runs (30 earned runs) and 10 home runs.
