After a disastrous start to a so far winless season − one exacerbated by the re-injury of quarterback Jayden Daniels' left (non-throwing) elbow, Washington Commanders fans got some much needed positive news.
Head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday, Sept. 25, that his franchise quarterback, who led the team to the NFC title game to cap his Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign in 2024, will not be placed on injured reserve despite the elbow dislocation he suffered in the team's Week 2 loss at Dallas. Quinn characterized Daniels as week to week.
“Yeah, like most things, when you wanna wait it out, you go through the what if’s in your head and sometimes those are worse than the actual news," Quinn said.
"But you just wait to get all the information
you can, and then, spoke with him on the phone and again we had a chance to visit this morning, so I thought just what a great bit of news for him and for us.”
