Winner, winner, chicken ... purse? Walmart has a hit on its hands with its Rotisserie Chicken Purse.

The retail giant began selling a purse modeled after its popular rotisserie chicken on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 1, and the initial supply of the limited-edition $5.97-priced bags sold out on SparkShop.com. So, of course, the purses began showing up on the resale site eBay

, with listings from about $40 to $80.

The good news? Walmart has another allocation coming on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the company told USA TODAY.

Walmart's Chicken Rotisserie Purse has been popular. The retailer plans to make more available.

"The limited-edition Chicken Purse is officially sold out," the Walmart site reads. "We're keeping the oven warm though. A restock is coming, so consider this your heads up."

Chicken Month. The bag looks like a rotisserie chicken you would pick up at the market for dinner and carries the same $5.97 price tag. The Chicken Purse comes in two "flavors": Traditional and Lemon Pepper.

Walmart says interest in its rotisserie chicken generated more than 15,000 social media mentions over the past year. Nearly one in every 12 Walmart shoppers buys one, the company says.

"We wanted to celebrate this fandom by giving the rotisserie chicken its own moment," said Kim Tunick, Walmart's group director of brand experiences and partnerships, in a Sept. 1 news release announcing the arrival of the coveted Chicken Purse.

There's been a lot of interest online, too. "This is hilarious and surprisingly stylish!" posted one commenter on Instagram.

"Wait, this is hilarious and iconic at the same time. I love it!" wrote another commenter.

The Chicken Purse will be available for purchase again on Sept. 8 through SparkShop.com. Ahead of the restock, here are the available accessories for customizing the limited-edition purse:
