The Breeders’ Cup World Championships return for a second day full of the world’s top Thoroughbred horse racing at the historic Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
Saturday’s schedule features nine Grade 1 championship races, highlighted by the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic. The competition for the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year is especially fierce this season.
The reigning Horse of the Year, Sovereignty, holds a narrow lead atop the leaderboard with 253 points, closely pursued by defending Classic champion Forever Young at 252 points. Adding to the drama, Golden Tempo, who won the 2026 Kentucky Derby and 2026 Belmont Stakes, headlines a deep and talented field.
The title will be decided in a showdown during Saturday’s races.
