Angelina Jolie's famous Hollywood mansion is officially off the market.
The historic home, which was once owned by iconic director Cecil B. DeMille, sold for $24.75 million on Thursday, Sept. 24, according to real estate records viewed by USA TODAY. Jolie, 51, purchased the property for $24.5 million in 2017, shortly after filing for divorce
from ex Brad Pitt, and put it up for sale for $29.9 million in May.Located in a gated community in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, the house sits on two acres of land and spans 11,000 square feet, complete with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
It was originally built in 1913, and DeMille, who bought it in 1916, later connected it with a neighboring home that previously belonged to Charlie Chaplin.
"The legendary Cecil B. DeMille estate is now discretely being offered, marking a once-in-a-generation opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history—an iconic compound from which Hollywood's future was shaped, and where Mr. DeMille helped define the industry as the entertainment capital of the world," the original listing description read.
DeMille lived in the home until his death in 1959, and it went on to have other longterm owners. Records show the same person resided there for 30 years before selling it to Jolie.
Among the estate's impressive features include a fitness studio, a tea house, a guest house, a pool and pool house, rose gardens and a "separate garage with security station."
"Perched at the highest point within the prestigious Laughlin Park enclave, the grounds command sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory—adding further romance to this timeless legacy estate," the description said.
The sale comes amid the actress' ongoing legal dispute with Pitt, 62, over one of their previously shared properties, Château Miraval, the French winery they jointly owned from 2008 until 2021 and where they got married in 2014. The "F1" star filed the lawsuit in February 2022, claiming Jolie sold her stake to an investment firm without his consent.
The pair, who split in 2016, have been battling in court ever since. The case is expected to go to trial in August 2027.
