Braden Peters, better known as the "manosphere" streamer Clavicular, has been charged in Massachusetts court with rape, drugging a person for sex and providing alcohol to an underage person, court records show.
Peters was charged on Sept. 8 in connection with an incident that occurred on May 23, 2025, according to Orleans District Court records viewed by USA TODAY. The charges were first reported by The Bulwark.
Peters is set to be arraigned on Oct. 14 but does not appear to have been arrested.
Peters, 20, is known for "looksmaxxing," a social media term for a controversial use of dangerous and extreme tactics to achieve maximum physical attractiveness. The influencer has gone to extremes such as hitting himself in the face with a hammer so his
bones grow back sharper and taking small amounts of methamphetamine to suppress his appetite. Offshoots of the trend have ventured into sexist, misogynistic and racist philosophies, while Peters himself has drawn criticism for using racial slurs during his streams.
Peters' rep told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Monday, Sept. 21, that he "has not been physically served" and that The Bulwark was "exaggerating the status of a case to boost traffic."
USA TODAY was unable to reach Peters' rep for comment.
The September charges come after Peters' teen protege Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza sued him in April for physical and sexual abuse after an incident at his Cape Cod, Massachusetts, home in May 2025. Mendoza alleged that the content creator had sex with her without consent and injected her with an "unapproved drug" during a livestream when she was 16.
The first two charges are felonies: In the case of a conviction, the rape charge comes with a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, while the second charge of using a substance in connection with a sexual encounter comes with a mandatory 10-year minimum or a maximum of life in prison. The third charge, providing alcohol to a person under 21, is a misdemeanor.
After news of the charges emerged on Monday, Sept. 21, the streamer took to X, sharing video of Mendoza in which she called the injection "fun" and said Peters was "super nice." In a separate post, he called out a post by Mendoza for trying to work as a bottle girl and wrote, "Happens to all successful young men, people try to come for your money. Greed is evil."
In a third post, he shared video from an apparent livestream with Mendoza, in which she said she was 18.
In March, Peters was also arrested and charged with battery in an unrelated case, and in April, he was hospitalized after a suspected overdose. In May, he was charged after prosecutors alleged he and another streamer shot at an alligator in the Florida Everglades.
