Hosted by Alan Cumming, "The Traitors: New Blood" has begun with an all-civilian cast, which is unlike previous seasons. So far, the selected traitors are putting on their best poker faces to remain under the faithful's radar.

Show director Ben Archard spoke more about why the cast shakeup works.

"Yes, the show is about murder. Yes, it's about deceit, but it's about real emotion," Archard told USA TODAY during the production of "New Blood." "They're more invested, more involved. The prize pot will mean a lot to them. So you get a very raw, real, genuine experience for them."

When do new episodes of 'The Traitors: New Blood' drop?

New episodes premiere every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Each episode will stream on Peacock the next day.

Like the season premiere on Sept. 17, two episodes air on Thursday, Sept. 23. New content typically drops at 6 a.m. ET/ 3 a.m. PT. on the streaming platform.

What makes 'New Blood' different from previous seasons?

This season, the Scottish castle opened its doors to 22 everyday Americans for the unique competition to solve, evade or commit "murder."

It's a switch from the usual formula in the U.S. franchise, where the cast is made up of famous musicians, Olympic gold-winning athletes and reality TV stars.
