Lindsey Graham's sister is a step closer to becoming his permanent replacement.
Darline Graham and U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman advanced to a runoff in a special Republican primary in South Carolina on Aug. 11 for the nomination previously held by her brother, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who suddenly died of an aortic dissection last month. Darline Graham was sworn into office as her sibling's interim replacement and is now running to be his full-time replacement for a full term beginning in 2027.
The winner of the runoff will face Democratic opponent Annie Andrews in the November general election.

yesterday's Republican primary, with an estimated 99% of the votes counted:
- Darline Graham advanced to a runoff with 32.7% of the vote
- Ralph Norman advanced to a runoff with 24.7% of the vote
- Russell Fry: 19.6% of the vote
- Mark Lynch: 14.9% of the vote
- Mark Sanford: 5.9% of the vote
