Federal authorities raided a Beverly Hills mansion in connection with an investigation into the former California Rep. Eric Swalwell on Oct. 27, according to the Los Angeles Times and Fox News.
The raid took place early Tuesday morning on North Roxbury Drive and is believed to have targeted billionaire Stephen Cloobeck's residence, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Cloobeck was a major supporter of Swalwell when he was running as one of the Democratic candidates in California’s gubernatorial race, before he ultimately ended his bid for the governorship and resigned from Congress in April after several women alleged he committed sexual assault and misconduct.
Cloobeck, 64, is an American Businessman and former CEO of Diamond Resorts International,
making his wealth primarily from selling timeshares before selling the company to Apollo Global Management for $2.2 billion in 2016. He also briefly ran for California governor last year but failed to reach more than 1% in polls, withdrew from the race, and backed Swalwell.

Cloobeck was also arrested and charged by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in May for attempting to prevent or dissuade a victim from testifying, according to the New York Times.
Since the beginning of the year, Swalwell has been at the center of an FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct, with the FBI seizing multiple electronics from the former congressman in August.
During the campaign trail, Swalwell stayed at Cloobeck's home several times and used his property for political events. Swalwell also retreated to the home after the allegation that he committed sexual assault and misconduct became known to the public and ultimately resulted in his withdrawal from the race.
Swalwell also recorded one of his last videos denying the allegation while staying at Cloobeck's home.
The FBI has revealed why it raided Cloobeck's home, with FBI spokesperson Lourdes Arocho telling the Los Angeles Times it was "executing a search warrant" and that court documents related to the case are sealed.
