Paul George had a record-breaking performance for the Boston Celtics before the third quarter was even over in Tuesday's season opener.
Brought to Boston as part of the Jaylen Brown trade, George had 31 points in his first 20 minutes of action. He was 10-for-14 from the floor and 6 of 8 from 3-point range. Those 31 points are already a new franchise record for a Celtics debut.
The 36-year-old has played well off of Jayson Tatum, suggesting this partnership could keep the Celtics among the Eastern Conference's elite if George can stay healthy. That's a big if considering his recent track record, but George's debut for Boston has been a treat.
