Doritos has something for you to look forward to in 2027. Yep, a new flavor of the crunchy triangular chips is expected to hit especially hard in Atlanta.
Coming to store shelves in early 2027 for a limited time: Doritos Lemon Pepper chips. For sure, lemon pepper is a flavor on the rise nationally and "has become one of food culture's most recognizable and beloved flavors," the Doritos brand said in a statement. "Inspired by its growing popularity and passionate fan base, Doritos is combining the bold seasoning with its iconic crunch."
But lemon pepper wings are officially a longtime thing in Atlanta and the spice combo is a staple there. "Lemon pepper has become a fan favorite, born out of Atlanta's wing scene and loved for its bold, tangy kick.
We've watched it take off, and it felt like a natural fit for Doritos," said Jess Spaulding, senior vice president of marketing for PepsiCo Foods U.S., in a statement to USA TODAY.
"But getting lemon pepper right on a chip is harder than it sounds. You want the bright citrus up front and the pepper to build as you eat," she said.

When retailers who stock Doritos got to taste the forthcoming flavored chips at the National Association of Convenience Stores Show in Las Vegas last week, "the reaction was immediate," Spaulding said. "Doritos Lemon Pepper takes its inspiration from that wing-shop favorite and makes it bold in a way only Doritos can."
Here's how Doritos described the taste of the new chips to USA TODAY: "It opens bright and tangy, moves into peppery heat and savory notes, and finishes with a lingering zest."
How many Doritos flavors are there currently? More than a dozen
Of course, Doritos is constantly bringing out new flavors for fans to try. Currently, there are 14 different flavors of Doritos available at retailers nationwide, the brand said.
Also launched recently: Doritos Protein chips in Nacho Cheese and Sweet & Tangy BBQ flavors, which provide 10 grams of protein with a 1-ounce serving.
A few months earlier came the arrival of new Doritos without artificial dyes and flavors: Doritos Simply NKD Nacho Cheese and Doritos Simply NKD Cool Ranch chips.
