Amanda Serrano’s boxing career will end amid her roots, in her home country of Puerto Rico.
Serrano, 38, will fight one last time, on Jan. 9 at Coliseo de in San Juan, her promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, announced Wednesday, Oct. 28.
It will be celebration for Serrano, a seven-division world champion and Puerto Rico’s only undisputed world champion, when she fights Australian Skye Falzon. She’ll be defending her WBO and WBA featherweight titles during what's being billed as "The Last Walk."
"Boxing has been my life, and I never could have imagined the journey it would take me and my family on," Serrano said, reflecting on her journey that has included her trainer and manager, Jordan Maldonado. "From the early days when women's boxing was fighting
for recognition in small theater shows, to headlining Madison Square Garden in New York, reaching millions of fans around the world on the biggest shows, and helping open doors for the next generation of female fighters, Jordan and I always believed and I'm proud of everything we've accomplished.
"But none of it happened alone."

Serrano continues to credit her relationship with Most Valuable Promotions, co-founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.
"Nakisa, Jake and MVP believed in me and in women's boxing, and together we've helped change what's possible for women in this sport," Serrano said. "We've fought for respect, equal opportunities, fair pay, and the choice to compete under the same rules as men.
"There's still more work to do, and I'll continue fighting for the next generation long after I hang up my gloves."
Before she hangs up the gloves, Serrano (50-4-1) will have an opportunity to enhance her legacy. She has 32 knockouts and needs one more to break the record for most knockouts by a female boxer. She currently shares the record with Christy Martin, an International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee.
